BEHIND THE

CRAFTSMANSHIP

WOODEN STOOLS & BENCHES

GHANAIAN WOODWORK

Inspired by the iconic West African djembe drum and the Ashanti Golden Stool, these handcrafted stools and benches celebrate Ghanaian artistry and tradition. Their unique forms and intricate carvings sometimes feature Adinkra symbols, each carrying deep cultural meaning—representing strength, unity, and heritage.

Crafted with sustainability in mind, these accent stools are made from reclaimed and responsibly harvested wood, ensuring minimal waste while preserving natural resources.

Artisanal Process:

  1. Carefully selected wood such as cedrela, mahogany, or teak is chosen for its durability and beauty.
  2. Hand-carving begins with shaping the stool’s distinctive form, followed by detailed etching using traditional chiseling techniques.
  3. Sanding and polishing highlight the wood’s natural grain, with a final finish of natural oils or waxes.
  4. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, blending heritage craftsmanship with modern design.
