The basket collection offers a contemporary selection of intricate styles of basket weaving found in Zimbabwe, including binga basket weaving, sisal weaving and ilala palm weaving. Zimbabwean master weavers use natural plant fibres and non-toxic dyes to handcraft each basket.

Inspired by the natural landscapes that shape local communities—like the waters surrounding the Tonga people—these baskets reflect their origins. Handwoven by female artisans in Zimbabwe’s Hwange district, they honor centuries-old traditions. Locally sourced fibers are wrapped and stitched over grass bundles, with upcycled materials and plant-based dyes ensuring sustainability throughout.

Beautifully exquisite

The very simple Binga basket, in my case , the 16" size truly delivered. I wanted an elegant understated piece for that part of my wall and this is it. I will leave it for my grand children -but not just yet.
The workmanship is practiced. The color tone is as rich as that of a fine flaxen linen, but even better. The tone on tone pattern comes alive when the light hits. You will love it.
It arrived with a couple of pieces of tissue on top and bottom that replicates the 54KIBO logo pattern ( a nice touch, I think).
You will not be disappointed with this or I have a feeling, any of the other products offered.
