The Porcupine small decorative basket is handmade in Zimbabwe by women weavers. The porcupine weave is made from Ilala palm, using a double weave to create a smooth interior and exterior with a raised texture that mimics porcupine quills. This small decorative basket is a beautiful statement piece for a living room or home office, adding an African accent to a functional space.

The basket collection offers a contemporary selection of intricate styles of basket weaving found in Zimbabwe, including binga basket weaving, sisal weaving and ilala palm weaving. Zimbabwean master weavers use natural plant fibres and non-toxic dyes to handcraft each basket.

Beautifully exquisite

The very simple Binga basket, in my case , the 16" size truly delivered. I wanted an elegant understated piece for that part of my wall and this is it. I will leave it for my grand children -but not just yet.
The workmanship is practiced. The color tone is as rich as that of a fine flaxen linen, but even better. The tone on tone pattern comes alive when the light hits. You will love it.
It arrived with a couple of pieces of tissue on top and bottom that replicates the 54KIBO logo pattern ( a nice touch, I think).
You will not be disappointed with this or I have a feeling, any of the other products offered.
